A short 5 minute drive from the centre of Woodford township, we have access to the amenities attributed to a small village. Including doctor, pharmacy, butcher, bakery and newsagent as well as a coffee shop for those who need a kick start in the morning.
With Bellthorpe National Park bordering the property, we are able to launch fun and adventurous activities into this 7500 hectare natural playground.
Adventure Alternatives Education Centre can accommodate 128 students and 12 teaching staff / support staff within the centre. There are 9 Eco Tabins (Tent/Cabin) with 8 Tabins holding 16 students and 1 holding 12 for the teachers. Our unique Tabin design uses a variety of reclaimed materials to build a structure that is both functional and modern while being kind on the earth’s resources. Timber deck floors and double bunk beds give you a comfortable night’s sleep.
We have a further 4 remote campsites on the property and access to 4 more campsites offsite. So no matter what the size of your group, by incorporating a one night campout, we can accommodate any sized cohort.
A large commercial kitchen and 300 square metre, open plan undercover dining hall can feed and seat 150 people on wooden bench seats with teachers at tables and chairs. The area can be cleared to create a great activity area, an informal classroom or a movie cinema at night. A tea and coffee station is stocked and ready for use 24 hours a day.
The activities onsite include High & Low ropes, Flying Fox, Giant’s Ladder, Glider Possum, Initiative & Problem Solving Activities, Rogaining, Milk Crate Climb, Raft building, Environmental & Permaculture designed food gardens. While off-site, we offer Hiking, Orienteering and Navigation, and Mountain Biking.
